I’ve mentioned countless times that I do enjoy a number of books that I can relate too. Lately, I’ve been hooked on books with stories that share my current situation: relocation. These stories somehow burst your bubbles of expectation and show you what you should really expect in these wonderful foreign places. Because I do believe that it is of utmost necessity for people, who are relocated to be educated about their destination. This should hopefully make it easier for one to settle into the new place to call home…
Project 30: I’m not the fangirl type…But this is an exception.
I heard that A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg was a good read, so I decided to buy my own copy. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was and is a GREAT read. I now regret that I didn’t buy the hardbound copy of the book because my paperback is just ratty from being read and reread. I just finished reading it for the 3rd time, and I want to read it again and again and again. What is it about Miss Molly’s writing that I just can’t get enough of? What is it that makes the un-fangirl in me swoon?
Project 30: Born Round too!
I enjoy reading food literature books that I can relate with: when the writer has gone through similar life experiences as I have or when the writer shares the same life principles, beliefs as I have. Born Round by Frank Bruni is one of those books. It is one of my ultimate favorite books because I can really relate with some of Frank’s life stages and his struggle with weight, which is a constant struggle of mine, especially now that I’ve packed in a good (but really BAD) 10-kilos in the past 5-months. My heaviest weight EVER. Not good right?
Look Ma, No Cookbooks!
Unlike other food enthusiasts, who enjoyed the privilege of experimenting in the kitchen with their parents / grandparents in their nappies, I hardly got that chance…
