Why the need to cool down during wintertime?

I arrived in Dubai last June in the middle of the hottest summer I have ever experienced in my life. It was THAT hot, considering that I was born and raised in a tropical country which is right smack on the equator. I was in the desert so what the heck did I even expect? I did expect the scorching summer sun, but the suffocating humidity? That I did not expect at all.

So now that the weather has cooled down significantly, requiring an additional layer of clothing (preferably something a bit thick like wool for those of us who aren’t built for the cold weather) on top of your day-to-day garb, why have I been guzzling down iced tea on a daily basis?!?

Project 30: Me Time is Milk Tea Time

Good Me Time with Milk Tea Time

I can’t believe it’s been almost a week in Manila already. My life has basically been a blur. Or mostly in a standstill as I seem to spend most of my time on the road, which is a good 4 to 5 hours a day. Traffic isn’t usually this bad, but since it’s been raining almost non-stop (or conveniently during rush hours) plus, as most people have tweeted, the start of the Christmas season (We are suckers for the Christmas holidays and the Christmas carols start playing on the radio as early as September). I don’t drink softdrinks BUT…

This bubbly is deadly.

I gave up drinking softdrinks more than 10 years ago, but think I’ve stumbled upon an exception. It’s The Husband’s fault again for introducing me to another saccharine treat. Well, it has lots of sugar that’s for sure. The downside that it’s not the healthy kind :-( I can’t help it. I’m hooked!
