My name is Didi and this blog o’mine is all about my big D’s. Unfortunately, those big D’s aren’t on my chest (though sometimes I do wish I had those) because the D’s mean something else.
Initially, I wanted to be a food writer like someone else. But in the past years, I’ve realized something: I can’t want to be like someone else. I need to be me. So now, I’ve slightly modified my dream (We’re allowed to aren’t we?) I have a dream: write about my story, my journey as a Filipino born and bred, food-loving global citizen. Maybe someday, one day I would be a published book author J A girl like me can dream, right?
My short stories (i.e. blog posts) will be about my discoveries about my self, my roots and my current food environment, most especially small, relatively affordable and authentic eats plus glo-cal produce for my cooking pleasure. Coincidentally, I have lived in places whose names also begin with the letter “D”: the glamorous luxury hot spot (quite literally) Dubai, United Arab Emirates, then the quiet suburbia down South: Duluth, Georgia, USA and now in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Texas. And I am thankful that there are always loads to discover in these “D” places.
Hop on the discovery train! And yes, grab a snack while you are at it
Delirious about delicious,
