“Oh wow, look at that church!” I exclaimed and pointed to the gothic structure glowing yellow in the darkest of night as we drove into the town of Roanoke, Virginia to get a night’s sleep after the 16-hour drive from Texas.
Of course, The Husband didn’t see as he was focused on driving to get us to our hotel as fast as our rental car could.
But I was sure glad that the next morning, we got to see the church up close because this is where we celebrated Sunday mass to thank God for the safe road trip and to pray for protection for the second leg of the trip to New Jersey.
We later learned that the church is actually listed as part of the National Register of Historical Places. Awesome!
