“I saw you looking at Jam E Jam supermarket. What’s in there? I saw your head turn and your eyes lit up when we passed that intersection. I saw you!” The Husband quizzically asked me.
I remember sneaking a look, making sure that I didn’t make a shameless longing look at another quirky Dubai food destination, and smiled. “Yes…” I sheepishly admitted. It amazed me how keen his observation was. He noticed me in a time when I didn’t expect him too.
What’s even more thoughtful was that he took me there to pick up some barberries, or Zereshk, tangy scarlet orbs used in rice and other savory Iranian dishes Now, I have a big bottle of barberries to use in cereals, oatmeal, homemade granola (which I plan to make once I have that roasting pan of mine) and Zereshk Polo or rice with barberries.
I love those barberries, but I do love the fact that The Husband has a keen eye on such random foodie eccentricities of mine I really love him barberry much!
