Today I had my first taste of the famous St Patty’s Day, where else, but in Dubai’s little patch of Ireland. The Husband and I, together with our good friends, trooped to Irish Village in Garhoud to join in the revelry with a generous pork filled buffet (pork is limited to a number of licensed establishments), pints of Irish beer (which we didn’t end up drinking, but encountered on the sticky cobblestoned pathways of the venue) and live not-so-Irish music (I reckon that “Eye of the Tiger” is NOT and Irish tune).
To be honest, I was not so lucky at the St. Paddy’s Day celebration because my stomach turned inside out from all that rich food. I guess my stomach is not used to having too much anymore. Again, I am struggling to train my big appetite to shrink for long-term overall health reasons, so I guess this means that it’s working?
I believe that my Irish luck came in the form of stomach ache comfort from Caribou Coffee, my personal favorite coffee shop in the world. A tall glass of their Mango black iced tea finally quelled the gastric disturbance inside of me.
Plus, I believe that The Husband and I struck a pot of gold with two signature Caribou ceramic mugs with our favorite Caribou scribbles.
Now, we have a three-piece Caribou ceramic ware collection: grandma tumbler, mama mug and baby mug. We’re now just missing a papa mug to complete our collection 🙂
Anybody care to share a cuppa with me at Caribou Coffee soon?
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to one and all!
Delirious over delicious,
