We attended the wedding reception of some friends last night, another first in my life here in the desert. To be honest, it was such a refreshing change to the usual pageantry of Filipino weddings, which now involve too much frills…
It was a wedding night stripped to the bare essentials. The bride didn’t don a hefty white wedding gown; she wore a simple cocktail dress. The guests were limited to close family, friends and colleagues, instead of everyone, who were not necessarily closely connected to the couple. The wedding cake was a simple, yet elegant two tiered pink and white fondant icing wonder (which was so beautiful that we kept taking photographs of it and didn’t want to eat it! But of course, we eventually did eat it.)
It was a simple celebration of true love, family, friendship, food and laughter…lots of laughter. I loved it! To the newly wed couple, Hanson & Sharon, may you start (and end) each day of your marriage like the your wedding night: simple and sweet Cheers!
Delirious about delicious,
P.S. The wedding cake was homemade. Gasp! Amazing right? Let me know if you want to contact the wonderful cake lady responsible for the beautiful cake
