A corny Purefoods corned beef post

I will be perfectly honest that I just do not feel like blogging right now. I am dead tired after deciding to vacuum and scrub down our floors on all floors in order to remove the collecting dust from the past two weekend’s sandstorms. My eyes are droopy already with my head bobbing up and down as I struggle to finish today’s post.

Oh, did I mention that I also did writing work and cook on top of my Cinderella duties? Tired…

The Husband and I enjoyed a breakfast favorite of Filipinos: corned beef (Although we did eat it at dinner time). Corned beef is one of the favorite breakfast items of Filipinos? Yes. Obviously, the love for corned beef was strongly influenced by The Americans. Thanks to them, we have learned to love this salty processed beef treat, which graces our breakfast tables on days when we feel extravagant (at least for my family, corned beef is a special treat).

This particular brand, Purefoods corned beef, has earned an infamous place in the suitcases and boxes of migrating Filipinos. At least I know some people who have done this. Even when migrating to the very land of canned corned beef, the USA, some Filipinos refuse to eat other corned beef brands. It sometimes is too corny for words. Talk about brand loyalty. Sheesh.

That’s enough corned beef talk for now. Just too tired….Zzzzzzz.

Delirious about delicious,

Didi

Nothing beats Purefoods… I only stayed in the US for 6 months but just had to bring me a couple of cans, and went and bought a couple more at the local Pinoy store. ;)

For some reason parang iba na ung lasa ng corned beef for me. It’s somehow less flavorful than I remember (we don’t eat this often sa house kc mahal!)

I agree that it has changed a bit. They include more fat too… yet, it’s still the best compared to the rest of the brands out there.

It’s not just the fat, but the flavor. I find it less flavorful than the one I remember from my childhood. Sabi ni papa, the stuff they’ve been feeding the cows nowadays may have affected the taste of the meat. I think it’s highly possible
