I am at the brink of breaking my 365 days blog entry commitment. WTH!?! Do I give up that easily? Hmmm…sometimes!
I just have so many thoughts running through my head and I can’t seem to filter them. In times like this, a walk in the park (or maybe a dizzying stroll through the busy, jam-packed Dubai shopping malls) would be a great breather to just zero-in on what exactly I want to share. I guess because I have a million thoughts in my head and I can’t seem to pin which one means I have so many things I’d like to share to the rest of the world.
My thoughts.
My observations.
My life learnings. I claim to have gained wisdom at my young age. Can you guess how young I am?
My Filipino heritage. Not always particularly proud about it, but I cannot deny…I am Filipino!
My food stories! It always is about the food, isn’t it? It is! It will always be about the food!
At this point, I do want to share more about what exactly Filipino food is, which is a very shy member of world cuisine. I actually had loads of fun talking about my Filipino food on an eyebrow raising food trip (Yes, we did get number of what-the-heck-is-an-Indian-doing-inside-a-Filipino-restaurant stares) with a kind, open-minded food blogger. She asked questions, I gave her answers. And in return, I also asked questions and she gave me answers. I was extremely grateful that she had the patience to listen to my condesed version Filipino cuisine 101 from the palate and stomach of a poor Philippine history student, but mind you, a voracious Filipino food diner. Hahahaha!
I’d love more of these casual foodie cultural exchanges soon. I get to share more about our humble cuisine and gain knowledge on what dishes to order in a particular restaurant. So would you care to share your food with me too?
Delirious about delicious,
Didi
